Grouping of Scripts and Languages in Jaspell Jaldi

Jaspell Jaldi is our Windows software package for word processing in English and many other languages.  You can change the script system you will work in either by a quick key sequence on the keyboard or by clicking on menus with the mouse.  The languages' scripts are classed broadly as Roman or as non-Roman Asian.

ROMAN Script with Accents:- Easily type, add, change, clear and accents like in for Afrikaans, Albanian, Basque, Catalan, Chinese (Mandarin in Pinyin), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Esperanto, Estonian, Froese, Finnish, French, Galician, German, Greenlandic, Hindustani*, Hungarian, Icelandic, Irish, Italian, Lappish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malagasy, Maltese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Rumanian, Serbo-Croatian, Slovak, Slovene, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Welsh.

ASIAN Script Systems:-

  1. Brahmi-based Family:- Assamese, Bengali, (Devanagari), Gujarati, (Gurumukhi), Hindi, Hindustani*, Marathi, Nepali, Punjabi*, Sanskrit
  2. Japanese Phonetic Family:- Hiragana, Japanese, Katakana, Romaji
  3. Naskh (Horizontal) and Nastaliq (Descending) Families:- Arabic, Persian (Farsi), Pushtu, Urdu.

* Note: Hindustani and Punjabi are sometimes written in Roman, Naskh, or Nastaliq script instead of Devanagari.
